Generate a Document

Draft an SOP, CV, cover letter, or reference letter grounded in your profile

OppPaths writes application documents using your student profile and the specific scholarship's requirements — Statement of Purpose (SOP), CV/resume, cover letters, and reference letters.

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to the Documents tab.
  2. Choose a document type.
  3. Click Generate. OppPaths drafts the document in multiple stages, including a critical-review pass that checks for fit, weak evidence, unsupported claims, and vague language before producing the final result.

Note: Generation usually takes about a minute or two. It runs as a background job, so you can navigate away and receive a notification when it is ready. A retry is a new AI attempt and uses a new credit.

Always review before you submit

The output is grounded in your real profile and the scholarship's actual requirements — it does not invent facts. Even so, always read it over and personalize it in your own voice before you submit anything.

Note: Sometimes the result comes back as an outline with [bracketed] placeholders instead of a fully personalized document — this happens when the profile is thin in some areas. See Complete a Framework Document to fill those in through a short guided chat.

What you'll see

Once ready, the document appears in the Documents tab with version history, and you can open Refine a Document to request changes.
